FAQ's

What should I wear?

Comfortable, form showing clothes are best for me to visually assess you with. I may ask you to remove trousers or top if I am working on the corresponding areas. Towels will be used to cover you to expose only the area I am working on.

You may feel most comfortable in a pair of loose shorts for leg work but normal underwear is also acceptable.

A bra or sports bra that opens at the back is easiest for me to undo and work around when lying face down.

How do I pay?

Pay via card or cash at your appointment. This includes all major card providers, contactless payments and Apple, Samsung and Google Pay. If paying by cash, please come with the correct change. You will have the option to receive a receipt via email.

How do I see your availability and book?

All availability can be seen and appointments booked through my online booking platform. This can be accessed through any of the 'Book Now' buttons on my website or directly through this link: https://sbsportsmassagetherapy.sif.health/book

Where are you based?

I carry out all my appointments from a dedicated treatment room in my home. This is near to Crowthorne train station. You will receive my full address in your booking confirmation email. Parking is free on the driveway or on street. Please ring the front doorbell upon arrival.

Can I go to the gym after a massage?

It is advised to avoid heavy exercise for the remainder of the day after having a massage to receive maximum benefit. Your body will be repairing and recovering, just like it would be after a work out, so giving it time to do this will help you feel your best. Feel free to read my 'After Advice' blog for further information on post massage.

What is your cancellation policy?

24 hours notice should be given in the event of needing to cancel your appointment. Notice in under 24 hours will incur a 50% charge of the session fee. This fee will be waivered for exceptional circumstances.

What length appointment is best for me?

There is no definitive answer as it depends on the size of area to be worked on as well as specificity of treatment. At least 45 mins - 1 hour allows time to work progressively into the muscles to achieve the maximum benefit.

The most popular is a 1 hour session as this allows me time to assess, work on the point of pain as well as surrounding affecting areas and give any stretches or exercises I feel would be beneficial to your aftercare. You might even feel a bit of relaxation by the end!

All initial appointments should be 1 hour.

I am happy to advise you at your appointment for your next session.

Do I need to complete the form you gave me and give consent?

Yes please! The consultation form allows me to review medical history to make sure there are no contraindications or adaptations I need to make to ensure your treatment is safe and suitable for you. Having a brief overview of your lifestyle and reason for treatment also helps give me a better picture of how best to tailor your session. Although I will discuss this and assess you further at your appointment, this helps save time so you can maximise your session. Consent from you is also important!

What is the best way to contact you?

The best way to get in touch is via email to stephanie@sbsportsmassagetherapy.com. If you need to contact me more urgently, such as if you are running late, please text or call on 07962 124892. If I am with a client at the time I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Do you treat under 18's?

I treat from the age of 15 upwards as I feel my type of treatment is not suited below this. All under 18's must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of their session. The consultation form and consent must also be completed and given by their parent or guardian.

What is your data policy?
